With great enthusiasm, Labiotest announces its participation in ECOMED 2025, the Green Expo dedicated to the Mediterranean which, for sixteen years, has served as a unique meeting point between the supply and demand of ideas and technologies to promote sustainability and circularity.
This edition, from April 15 to 17, 2025 at hall C1 – booth 89 of Sicilia Fiera, will be the ideal opportunity to showcase technological solutions for reducing odors, dust, and chemical contaminants, further strengthening our presence in the Mediterranean market.
We propose technologies designed for every specific odor issue, fully aware that every industrial sector and production phase can generate emissions that require targeted treatments. During the fair, our technicians will showcase the following applications:
Waste management is particularly challenging when it comes to odor emissions, which occur at all stages of the cycle (collection, transport, treatment, recovery/reuse, and storage/final disposal). These emissions, which can be either punctual or widespread, often cause inconvenience to nearby communities and production activities. To mitigate their effects, it is essential to adopt systems for both odor prevention and abatement. For each stage of the waste management cycle, Labiotest is capable of analyzing the emission issues and proposing the best applicable solution, such as osmogenic barriers or filtration plants.
The emission of malodorous volatile compounds is widespread in numerous industrial processes, including wastewater treatment, the processing of animal and plant waste, painting, feed production, and livestock farming, as well as in critical production phases in other activities. Labiotest employs various technologies depending on the specific odor issue to be addressed.
Our plants are designed to improve air quality by reducing odor concentrations with an efficiency exceeding 80%.

In particular, we collaborate with the Gesteco Chemical Laboratory and the LOD Olfactometric Laboratory, as well as with national and international research institutes.
Another fundamental aspect of the event is the conferences and workshops that will take place throughout the fair. The sessions, curated by experts and industry leaders, will cover highly relevant topics such as European sustainability policies, the latest innovations in waste management, advances in green energy, and strategies for more sustainable mobility.
On the occasion of our participation in ECOMED, and in collaboration with Centro Rappresentanze Motta – a reference point for Sicilian companies aiming to stay competitive for 40 years – we have organized a thematic meeting entitled
“Odors: Impacts, Regulations, and Solutions”.
During this session, one of our specialist technicians, following an introduction by the President of the Gruppo Luci, Adriano Luci, will delve into current odor regulations by presenting case studies from various sectors.
The event will be held at Sala Ciclope on Wednesday, April 16, from 14:15 to 16:00.
